Every time I looked back, Michelle was further out in the lake looking for more trilobites.

Each of these pieces have small trilobite fossils on it. They are SO delicate!

I think Michelle enjoyed having an excuse to get wet! It was HOT out there!

This is where the fossil-bearing shale washes out. I dug down to the bedrock and pulled out plates of the shale.

These are the layers of the shale. Each of these layers is just loaded with fossils...mostly trilobites. We ended the dig with several nice specimens. What a day!

Friday

We had been planning a return trip to the Fossil Frenzy Trip collecting area for a couple of weeks. Michelle was REALLY excited to go back! As you see, as soon as we saw chalk, she was plastered to the window!

This is a shark's tooth I found at one of the sites. This was my favorite find of the day!

Michelle is hard at work searching an area we found ourselves. It had several nice fossils in it.
