Right this way! We had made an agreement to all walk down there together and when we got to a certain point, it was each man for himself...you know, you have to be fair with kids around!

Katelyn immediately climbed up to the highest point and started scanning for the treasured amethyst.

I think at this point, Andrew was after a lizard...but we'll say he was looking for amethyst, too.

You'd think I was trying out for the Home Depot Mascot! I had tools in every pocket, on my belt, and in both hands....I was GOING to find amethyst!

Even legends have to take a break! Never mind the "boo-boo", she just scraped an old sore. She's tough!

By lunchtime, it was getting extremely hot. We had been there about five hours and we were pooped!

We restuffed the car and got ready to go. ...But we weren't done yet.. we had one more place we wanted to go on our way back to Alabama.....
