This field trip began with an invitation from some new friends of ours, Tonya and Barry.  They  asked if we would like to collect Staurolite in North Georgia with them.  We had been wanting to collect Staurolite for a while, but didn't know exactly where to go. We met at their house and rode with them to the location.  When we got there, we all piled out of the car and started looking along the ground. Michelle was sporting her new  "Wes-Man's" t-shirt  she got on the Rockfest '07 trip.

 

She was also premiering her new Gilligan hat that "Wild Bill from Fayetteville" had given her.  

 

It didn't take long before the first crystal was found. It was a nice complete piece. This was showing signs of being a great site.

 

Monte seemed to be doing well. She already had her bag out.
